Murkuz ("we," "our," or "us") is operated by Ertiqah. This Privacy Policy explains how we collect, use, disclose, and safeguard your information when you use the Murkuz search data connector, the Murkuz web application, and our website (murkuz.com).

2. Information We Collect

Account Information

When you create an account, we collect your name, email address, and payment information. If you sign up through Google OAuth, we receive your Google profile information.

Search & Analytics Data

When you connect Google Search Console, Google Analytics, or Bing Webmaster Tools, we access your site's search performance data, traffic data, and page performance metrics through those providers' official APIs, using the permissions you granted. This data is used solely to answer the questions you ask through Murkuz and to display analytics inside Murkuz.

Site Data

The details you enter when you connect a site, such as its name, its address and the topics or keywords you ask us to track, are stored on our servers, along with the access credentials issued when you authorize a connection. Those credentials are stored encrypted and are used only to read the accounts you connected.

3. How We Use Your Information

  • Provide, maintain, and improve the Murkuz service
  • Answer questions about your connected sites, in the Murkuz web application and through the AI clients you connect
  • Run the keyword and competitor research you request, which draws on data from outside your connected accounts
  • Send notifications about your account and your connected sites
  • Process payments and manage subscriptions
  • Respond to support requests and communicate product updates

4. AI Clients

You can connect Murkuz to an AI client such as Claude or ChatGPT. When you ask a question there, that client sends the request to Murkuz and Murkuz returns data from the accounts you have connected. Your use of that client, including anything you type into it, is governed by the client provider's own terms and privacy policy.

Where Murkuz uses AI models itself to process your data, it does so only to provide the features you use.

5. Google API Services User Data Policy

Murkuz's use and transfer of information received from Google APIs adheres to the Google API Services User Data Policy, including its Limited Use requirements. We do not use Google user data to train generalized AI/ML models, and we do not sell or transfer this data except as necessary to provide and improve user-facing features, comply with applicable law, or as part of a merger or acquisition. Data accessed from Google Search Console and Google Analytics is used solely to power user-facing features such as the answers Murkuz returns to you and to the AI clients you connect, and the analytics displayed within Murkuz.

6. Data Sharing

We do not sell your personal information. We share data only in these circumstances:

  • Service Providers: We use third-party services for payment processing (Stripe), email delivery, and infrastructure hosting.
  • Research Data Provider: When you run keyword or competitor research, the terms, URLs or domains you ask about are sent to an external data provider so it can return the figures. Your Search Console, Analytics and Bing data is not sent to that provider.
  • Legal Requirements: We may disclose information if required by law, regulation, or legal process.

7. Data Security

We implement industry-standard security measures including encryption in transit (TLS) and at rest, secure authentication, and regular security audits. However, no method of electronic storage is 100% secure.

8. Data Retention

We retain your data for as long as your account is active. Upon account deletion, we remove your personal data and content within 30 days. Anonymized, aggregated data may be retained for analytics purposes.

Depending on your jurisdiction, you may have the right to:

  • Access and export your personal data
  • Correct inaccurate information
  • Delete your account and associated data
  • Restrict or object to certain processing
