1. Introduction

Murkuz ("we," "our," or "us") is operated by Ertiqah. This Privacy Policy explains how we collect, use, disclose, and safeguard your information when you use our autonomous SEO operations platform and website (murkuz.com).

2. Information We Collect

Account Information

When you create an account, we collect your name, email address, and payment information. If you sign up through Google OAuth, we receive your Google profile information.

Site & Analytics Data

When you connect Google Search Console or Google Analytics, we access your site's ranking data, traffic data, and page performance metrics. This data is used solely to power Murkuz's detection engine and generate tasks.

Content Data

Content you create, edit, or import into Murkuz is stored on our servers. This includes articles, HyBrain knowledge base entries, and brand voice configurations.

3. How We Use Your Information

  • Provide, maintain, and improve the Murkuz platform
  • Detect ranking changes and generate automated SEO tasks
  • Generate AI-powered content suggestions using your HyBrain data
  • Publish content to your connected CMS platforms
  • Send notifications about ranking changes and task updates
  • Process payments and manage subscriptions
  • Respond to support requests and communicate product updates

4. AI Processing & BYOK

Murkuz uses AI models to generate content suggestions, analyze rankings, and provide recommendations. By default, we process AI requests through our own API keys.

We offer a Bring Your Own Key (BYOK) option where you can provide your own AI API keys. When using BYOK, your content is sent directly to your chosen AI provider under your own API agreement. We do not store or log the content processed through BYOK keys.

5. Google API Services User Data Policy

Murkuz's use and transfer of information received from Google APIs adheres to the Google API Services User Data Policy, including its Limited Use requirements. We do not use Google user data to train generalized AI/ML models, and we do not sell or transfer this data except as necessary to provide and improve user-facing features, comply with applicable law, or as part of a merger or acquisition. Data accessed from Google Search Console and Google Analytics is used solely to power user-facing features such as ranking-change detection, task generation, and the analytics displayed within Murkuz.

6. Data Sharing

We do not sell your personal information. We share data only in these circumstances:

  • Service Providers: We use third-party services for payment processing (Stripe), email delivery, and infrastructure hosting.
  • CMS Integrations: When you publish content through Murkuz, data is sent to your connected CMS (WordPress, Webflow, Framer) as directed by you.
  • Legal Requirements: We may disclose information if required by law, regulation, or legal process.

7. Data Security

We implement industry-standard security measures including encryption in transit (TLS) and at rest, secure authentication, and regular security audits. However, no method of electronic storage is 100% secure.

8. Data Retention

We retain your data for as long as your account is active. Upon account deletion, we remove your personal data and content within 30 days. Anonymized, aggregated data may be retained for analytics purposes.
